Welcome To Our Website!

CYO was established in 1957 to provide an arena for the youth of Long Island to grow physically, emotionally, and spiritually. This safe haven was designed to provide the environment for our children to develop fully and find within themselves their greatest potential.

At St Ignatius, it is our objective to not only teach our youth the skills associated with sport, but life lessons such as teamwork, commitment, sportsmanship, loyalty and citizenship. Through the ongoing support of our parish priests, parents, local business leaders, the Hicksville Community and the Town of Oyster Bay we have enjoyed success through the years.

St Ignatius offers a variety of intramural and travel programs, either through our own program or in coordination with our sister parishes of Holy Family and Our Lady of Mercy. Teams play their home games at venues to include Giese Park (baseball), located on Lee Ave just south of 9th St.; Monsignor Edward R. Tarrant Gymnasium (basketball), located in the St Ignatius School on East Marie St just north of the intersection of Old Country Rd and Broadway; Bethpage High School (Swimming) and Holy Trinity High School (Track).

CYO of Nassau and Suffolk participates in the Fair Play Agreement, and since 2006, the Town of Oyster Bay has instituted the same for all sports. St Ignatius is an eager participant, as we share the same mission to develop and enhance a safe and positive athletic experience for the youth of our community through athletic participation, regardless of skill or ability. We also compel our players to respect their teammates, opponents, coaches and umpires. For more information, please visit the Fair Play Coordinator’s page.

Please browse through our website, visit our sponsors, check our schedules and come down to a game. We would enjoy your support.

And if any of you are former St Ignatius players or parents and have some archive photos, e-mail them to coachcarroll@verizon.net and we’ll post them on the site.

“My favorite part of the game is the opportunity to play.”
